Join us for our Fall Rustic Retreat!  We are excited to go back to the University Inn Retreat Center in Gooding ID.  Located just over an hour outside of Boise.

The Gooding University Inn, the old Gooding College building, is full of history and makes an excellent getaway.  This is not a "cookie cutter" retreat center, the facility is unique and is full of charm. It was abandoned and neglected for many years and is now being remodeled and updated. There is a lot of work done, but it is "a work in progress", if you are looking for a Marriott like facility this is not it. The environment is open and rustic, with large hallways and rooms and some parts of the building needing finishing touches. We know you will enjoy making treasured memories with us at this fun rustic location!

Our retreats are an excellent way to get to know other quilters and grow your personal quilting community.  Our retreats are very laid back and a place to be you, learn new skills, try new things, and work on your projects without the interruption of home life!  We love getting to know new quilters and hope you'll join us!

We have both spots for overnight retreaters as well as a Day Only option for those who are local to Gooding and the surrounding area or who would like to stay at a local hotel.  The Gooding University Inn is 3 floors and will require going up and down stairs throughout the day.  But on the first and last day we will have helpers to carry luggage up and down stairs for you!

Join the JK Quilts Girls for our annual local retreat! You can stay at home or come stay at the hotel! The Hotel does offer a discounted rate for retreat goers! We will be having fun and stitching at the beautiful Riverside Hotel in Boise. Enjoy three days of fun projects provided by us, demos taught by the JK Quilts Girls, prizes and lots of SWAG (aka FREEBIES)!
Catered lunch and snacks will be provided each day of the retreat. We will have cutting and pressing stations set up too. Sewing machines are not provided so please plan on bringing your own machine and basic notions.
This Retreat is a perfect getaway for any level quilter!  It's also a great opportunity to meet other ladies with the same interests, we love building our quilting community and hope you'll come be a part of it!  SOLD OUT, 2026 Spring Retreat will go on sale in October.

a few words from our attendees

I just wanted to say thanks for the fun spring retreat at the Riverside. I enjoyed it all, including the projects, demos & the food. Not to mention spending time with the whole JK family and the friends (old & new) that I spent time with during busy days of sewing. I find the retreats are a great motivator for me to make genuine progress on my many works in progress.

The JK Quilts retreats are full of projects, shopping, prizes, food, fun, and laughter.
The JK ladies are a wealth of knowledge, experience, and ideas and they are there for you to tap into. There is always something to learn from other attendees as well. There are no lack of ideas and helpful advice and opinions.
The JK Quilts ladies are like family - friendly and welcoming. If you would like to attend but are alone, they do an amazing job matching you up with a roommate, and/or table mates. I am now planning my third retreat with my original roommate - we were a perfect match!
Worried about what to bring? Don't be! Besides personal items, bring a sewing machine, basic supplies, a small lamp (if you want), and a project you are working on or would like to. I prefer to bring projects already cut so I can spend my time sewing. There are daily projects provided that you can work on as well as what you bring.
There is always a shop set up just in case you forget something, would like to try something new, select another project, or would like to make a minky blanket. Let's face it - minky is MESSY! There are tables large enough to cut and layout your blanket and your sewing space at home stays minky-free. Retreat is the perfect place to make a blanket - you NEED to make a minky blanket!
Did I mention the swag bag?!!?
Attending a JK Quilts retreat is like a themed summer camp for adults. An opportunity to take a step back from your 'everyday', be creative, make friends, laugh, and have fun!

My JK Quilts retreat time is the most amazing "me" time! I look forward to it year after year. There is nothing like being with all these fabulous women who share the same love of quilting as you do. The stories, the laughter, the fun, the friendships and of course the quilting time is priceless.

I have always enjoyed attending the JK Quilt Retreats in Albion for many reasons. The Albion setting is very informal and it feels a world away from the busy life in Boise – you just want to sit down and sew.  They provide lots of  wonderful gift giveaways and I always come home with inspirational ideas and new skills that they have taught through the many mini workshops provided throughout the  retreat.  But the biggest reasons I love JK Quilt Retreats are the people! From the minute you get there you feel like you are home (without all the work).  The family of ladies who host the retreat are so warm and welcoming - while you are there you just feel pampered and taken care of.  They are extremely knowledgeable regarding all aspects of quilting, fabric selection, patterns etc. and are willing to help you whenever you ask.  One of the best parts is that as you sew they are making daily incredible home made meals and desserts - you just feel spoiled!  I have attended many Retreats but the JK Retreats have and will continue to be my favorite!
