Show and tell time at retreat is a favorite. It is so much fun to see what everyone has brought to show off.
Quilt retreats provide opportunities for us to get to know you better. It has been so much fun to develop real friendships with so many quilters and to see many of our attendees develop new friendships that last long after the retreat is over, because ... quilty people are the best kind of people.

JK is always at the retreat and on hand working on Featherweights.

Jenn is just crazy, but if you have taken a class from her you know that already.

The Charming Table Topper was a project from our Fall 2022 retreat.

Jenn and Liz did a Checkmate quilt race at our Fall 2022 retreat.

The JK ladies are a wealth of knowledge, experience, and ideas and they are there for you to tap into. There is always something to learn from other attendees as well. There are no lack of ideas and helpful advice and opinions.
Worried about what to bring? Don't be! Besides personal items, bring a sewing machine, basic supplies, a small lamp (if you want), and a project you are working on or would like to. I prefer to bring projects already cut so I can spend my time sewing. There are daily projects provided that you can work on as well as what you bring.
Did I mention the swag bag?!!?

My JK Quilts retreat time is the most amazing "me" time! I look forward to it year after year. There is nothing like being with all these fabulous women who share the same love of quilting as you do. The stories, the laughter, the fun, the friendships and of course the quilting time is priceless. ~ Bonnie Carington
I have always enjoyed attending the JK Quilt Retreats in Albion for many reasons. The Albion setting is very informal and it feels a world away from the busy life in Boise – you just want to sit down and sew. They provide lots of wonderful gift giveaways and I always come home with inspirational ideas and new skills that they have taught through the many mini workshops provided throughout the retreat. But the biggest reasons I love JK Quilt Retreats are the people! From the minute you get there you feel like you are home (without all the work). The family of ladies who host the retreat are so warm and welcoming - while you are there you just feel pampered and taken care of. They are extremely knowledgeable regarding all aspects of quilting, fabric selection, patterns etc. and are willing to help you whenever you ask. One of the best parts is that as you sew they are making daily incredible home made meals and desserts - you just feel spoiled! I have attended many Retreats but the JK Retreats have and will continue to be my favorite!

Fall Retreat 2023
November 8 - 11
River Canyon Retreat
Garden Valley, ID
Our fall retreat is a "rooming in" retreat. It's out of town so you can take a few days out of your regular day-to-day to spend some fun sewing time with great food and friends. Lodging, meals, snacks, gifts, mini projects and more are included with the retreat cost. Pressing and cutting stations will be provided. Just bring your comfy clothes, your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. We'll have a mini JK Quilts shop on site where you will find anything else you might need.
These rooms are in the gym building right next to the sewing area and quilt shop and across from the game room. Restrooms and showers are just across the hallway with additional showers in the gym. There are both queen and twin beds available in the bunk room. These spacious rooms are perfect for making lots of new friends!

This room is also in the gym building, but it has an on suite bathroom complete with shower and dual vanity. This room has 3 queen beds.

The lodge is beautiful and houses the kitchen, dining and living rooms. There are 4 bedrooms available in the lodge. Each has an attached bathroom except for the Birch Room, which has one directly across the hall that is shared with the living and dining space. ADA accomodations are available in one of the lodge rooms. Please let us know if you require that room.
