Show and tell time at retreat is a favorite. It is so much fun to see what everyone has brought to show off.

Quilt retreats provide opportunities for us to get to know you better. It has been so much fun to develop real friendships with so many quilters and to see many of our attendees develop new friendships that last long after the retreat is over, because ... quilty people are the best kind of people.

JK is always at the retreat and on hand working on Featherweights.

Jenn is just crazy, but if you have taken a class from her you know that already.

The Charming Table Topper was a project from our Fall 2022 retreat.

Jenn and Liz did a Checkmate quilt race at our Fall 2022 retreat.

Fall Retreat 2024

October 16 - 19
Gooding University Inn
Gooding, ID

Our fall retreat is a "rooming in" retreat. It's out of town so you can take a few days out of your regular day-to-day to spend some fun sewing time with great food and friends. Lodging, meals, snacks, gifts, mini projects and more are included with the retreat cost. Pressing and cutting stations will be provided. Just bring your comfy clothes, your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies. We'll have a mini JK Quilts shop on site where you will find anything else you might need.

There are three rooming options. Most rooms are double occupancy and share a bathroom with some other rooms. A couple of the double rooms have a private connected bath that will be just for you and your roommate. As always, we are happy to hear roomate requests. This year we also have several rooms that are private rooms. One of the best things about every rooming option is that all beds are queen size with no sharing required!

a few words from our attendees

A quilting retreat with JK Quilts is literally all fun and games!

*****
The JK Quilts retreats are full of projects, shopping, prizes, food, fun, and laughter.

The JK ladies are a wealth of knowledge, experience, and ideas and they are there for you to tap into. There is always something to learn from other attendees as well. There are no lack of ideas and helpful advice and opinions.
The JK Quilts ladies are like family - friendly and welcoming. If you would like to attend but are alone, they do an amazing job matching you up with a roommate, and/or table mates. I am now planning my third retreat with my original roommate - we were a perfect match!

Worried about what to bring? Don't be! Besides personal items, bring a sewing machine, basic supplies, a small lamp (if you want), and a project you are working on or would like to. I prefer to bring projects already cut so I can spend my time sewing. There are daily projects provided that you can work on as well as what you bring.
There is always a shop set up just in case you forget something, would like to try something new, select another project, or would like to make a minky blanket. Let's face it - minky is MESSY! There are tables large enough to cut and layout your blanket and your sewing space at home stays minky-free. Retreat is the perfect place to make a blanket - you NEED to make a minky blanket!

Did I mention the swag bag?!!?

Attending a JK Quilts retreat is like a themed summer camp for adults. An opportunity to take a step back from your 'everyday', be creative, make friends, laugh, and have fun!

My JK Quilts retreat time is the most amazing "me" time! I look forward to it year after year. There is nothing like being with all these fabulous women who share the same love of quilting as you do. The stories, the laughter, the fun, the friendships and of course the quilting time is priceless. ~ Bonnie Carington

I have always enjoyed attending the JK Quilt Retreats in Albion for many reasons. The Albion setting is very informal and it feels a world away from the busy life in Boise – you just want to sit down and sew.  They provide lots of  wonderful gift giveaways and I always come home with inspirational ideas and new skills that they have taught through the many mini workshops provided throughout the  retreat.  But the biggest reasons I love JK Quilt Retreats are the people! From the minute you get there you feel like you are home (without all the work).  The family of ladies who host the retreat are so warm and welcoming - while you are there you just feel pampered and taken care of.  They are extremely knowledgeable regarding all aspects of quilting, fabric selection, patterns etc. and are willing to help you whenever you ask.  One of the best parts is that as you sew they are making daily incredible home made meals and desserts - you just feel spoiled!  I have attended many Retreats but the JK Retreats have and will continue to be my favorite!

Fondly,
Debbie Johnson
