Dresden Wreath

Class Description:
Want a quick wall hanging or table topper to decorate for the holidays? With a quick change of fabrics, you can use this pattern
for every season. After designing the Jelly Roll Dresden, Carolyn asked “What If? She played with larger pieces and enclosed
both ends of the Dresden blades to form the “Dresden Wreath” pattern without the need to applique a center. In this class
Carolyn will show you how to use 10 fat quarters to make a “pleated” look Wreath. The scariness has been removed. Even
beginners can make this project.

In class, we will cut the blades using the template that is included in the pattern. Carolyn will share tips on piecing and color
placement. When your wreath has been assembled, she will share different techniques for attaching your wreath to the
background. Add the bow of choice (one applique, and one 3D) and you are ready to quilt!

Ruler –6” x 24”– Recommend Quilters’ Select
Grippy spray if you don’t use Quilters’ Select rulers
Rotary Cutter with new/sharp blade – Recommend Quilters’ Select
Small Cutting Mat
Wonder Clips
Small Iron & mat
Your Favorite Pressing Spray
Favorite Marking Pen – Recommend Frixion Felt Tip
Sewing machine in good working order plus favorite notions including:
¼” Presser Foot
Pins
Scissors and/or thread snips
Thread and bobbins– Recommend Aurifil
Seam Ripper – just in case

Optional but helpful supplies:
Additional ruler – 3” x 12” or 6” x 12” – Recommend Quilters’ Select

Pre-Class Preparation:
Cut a total of 40 strips (20 Dark, 20 Light) that are 3” x 12”. Stitch one Dark and one Light, RST on the 12” edge. Do not
press open and please don’t make any further cuts before class.
