Come and learn the basics of embroidery. Use this class as a refresher for embroidery or wool applique
stitches. This will be a great class for those planning to stitch the upcoming “Home Sweet Home”
embroidery pattern block of the month.
How to choose and prepare fabric for embroidery
What threads/needles to use
The following basic stitches
“Just Bee” drawstring bag- Gail Pan Designs (this must be purchased for copyright reasons)
1 FQ cotton fabric (cream, white, or tone-on-tone) trimmed to 12” x10”
Light to medium weight fusible interfacing (12” x 10” this can be ironed to the back of your fabric before
Embroidery thread in your choice of color
-The pattern shows, blue or red. You could also use a variegated. I prefer to use Sulky 12 wt embroidery
Notebook or paper, pen/pencil
-You will be writing down instructions and diagrams for each stitch learned.
-I personally do not use a hoop, but it may work best for you. You never know until you try!
*We will NOT be completing the bag, just the embroidery design (you may have to finish stitching at
home). You can choose to use your finished embroidery for the bag OR turn it into a pillow or wall
